Dilip Chitre

Dilip Purushottam Chitre is among the one of great Indian poet and writer. He was born in on 17 September 1938 in Baroda jn Gujarat. Later after some year his family shifted to Mumbai. His father Purushottam Chitre  was running  a magazine named ‘Abhiruchi’ . The magazine is still known for its high quality. He is a translator as well and he writes very well in English language as well. He also participated in International Writing Programme at the University of Iowa from 1975 to 1976. He was also the director of Indian poetry library and translation centre of Bharat Bhawan, Bhopa. He convened international symposium of poets in Bhopal and Delhi.

Dilip Chitre

Dilip Chitre write in Marathi and English. His first book, collection of poems was published in 1960. Since then he write several poems, critics books and done some wonderful translation works. He is currently working as a honorary editor ‘New Quest’. He got Sahitya Academy Award for Marathi language.
