Noted Tamil writer P V Akilan was born on June 27, 1922 at Perungalore in Tamilnadu He was a versatile writer He has wrote short stories, novels, plays, scripts, critic as well as journalist and satarist He participated in free fighting His father was Lingam Pillai and Mother was Amirthammal His father died in early age and so mother took the responsibility of looking after him He worked as government servent in Railway Mail Service and All India Radio.
He got several awards including the prestigious awards like Jnanpith Award (1975, Chitra pavai), Sahithya academy (1963, Vengayin Mainthan) Akilan had written amost 50 titles ‘Vengayin mainthan’ is one the most famous book based on Chola Dynasty.
