FUEL Gajarati Meet from tomorrow
A workshop on standardizing FUEL into Gujarati is organized on 26th and 27th December 2009 in Ahmedabad. It will be hosted by Infineon Infotech India Pvt. Ltd. Including two linguists there will be Gujarati Localization community members to work continuously during the workshop to achieve the FUEL evaluated translations for Gujarati. In this meet along with translators and localizers some linguist will be there as well.
Theа workshop aims at the community review and standardization of frequently encountered computing terminologies in Gujarati. FUEL Gujarati Evaluation meet aims at solving the problem of inconsistency and lack of standardization in computer software translations. At this occasion several people and volunteers from different field will discuss about the appropriate equivalent on 578 commonly appearing entries under FUEL list coming under popular applications people use in day to day life. Before the Gujarati language FUEL already completed released this list in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Maithili languages.
FUEL project is a community project initiated by Red Hat. It is hosted on FedoraHosted.Org. FUEL tries to provide a standardized and consistent computer interface for users. FUEL Gujarati Evaluation meet will be a concrete move towards the problem and after the meet, FUEL will come with the standard translation of entries in Gujarati language.
