Task Force set up on film, video, cable and music piracy
A Task Force to recommend measures to combat film, video, cable and video piracy has been set up in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. The Task Force under the chairmanship of Special Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will have S/Sh. Yash Chopra, eminent film producer; Manmohan Shetty, President, Film & Television Producers’ Guild of India; G.Adisheshagiri Rao, former President, Film Federation of India; Jawahar Goel, President, Indian Broadcasting Federation and Prashant Pandey, Member, Association of Radio Operators’ of India as Members. The Task Force shall hold consultations with State Governments as well as stakeholders before finalising their recommendations. The group is scheduled to submit its report within a period of six months i.e. before 18th June 2010.
The decision to form the Task Force has been taken keeping in view the recommendations of the 27th State Information Ministers’ Conference held in New Delhi on 5th December 2009.
